Study Design
Most of Job is a raw, emotional conversation between a suffering man and his friends. This study uses a unique “Narrative Summary” method to help your group truly digest it:

Weekly Commitment: Spend 30–60 minutes reading and reflecting.

Own Your Words: Using the worksheets in the study book, summarize the dialogues into your own narrative summaries to lock in the meaning and keep group discussions focused.

The Gospel Connection: Sessions 1–5 dive deep into Job’s wrestling match with grief and God’s sovereignty. The final session bridges into the New Testament, beautifully connecting Job’s suffering to our relationship with Jesus.
Inside the Study
From an idyllic life to a literal pile of ashes, Job loses his children, his livelihood, and his health in a single chapter. The next 40 chapters follow his raw emotional journey as he wrestles with great loss through conversations with his friends. Study Length: 6 weeks
Homework
This study has 2-3 days of homework each week, and can be completed in around 60 minutes. The homework consists of reading several chapters from the Book of Job, summarizing your reading, plus 1-2 light journal questions.

Out of the Whirlwind was written for a small group/bible study setting. If you are purchasing this study as an individual (or pair) you will still find a lot of value to this study. There is a mini guide included in the study for individuals.
